New challenge

In July, I decided to challenge myself to learn something new; this time it will be the F# language. To do that, there is nothing better than starting by reading material we enjoy and practicing.

The reason for this new challenge: besides strengthening my set of options as a solutions architect, I want to be able to apply these new concepts to the tools I already use.

I started reading the book “The book of F# - Breaking free with managed functional programming” by Dave Fancher. This book has only 314 pages, and I liked the approach, since the author goes straight to the point; right in the first chapter he makes that clear by presenting a simple reverse Polish notation parser. That makes it not very suitable for those who have had little contact with the programming world.

As I am still pretty green at this beginning and don’t have much to write about, I will start by translating the best content I find on the internet and publishing it here, without forgetting, of course, to give proper credit to its real authors. As I get more familiar with it, I will publish my own content about possible gotchas or random information about the language.
